CBSE Class 7th English Passage Based Question Chapter 5 Golu Grows a Nose

Paragraph 1:

Golu, the baby elephant, had no trunk, just a small, boot-like nose. He was curious and loved asking questions. He asked his aunt, the ostrich, why she didn’t fly, his uncle, the giraffe, why his skin was spotty, and the baboon why melons tasted like melons. However, none of his relatives had answers, labeling his questions as troublesome. One day, Golu met a mynah bird who told him to go to the great Limpopo River to find out what a crocodile eats for dinner. Excited by this idea, Golu set out on a journey to find the answer.

It was, in fact, the crocodile, who introduced himself. Golu asked what he ate for dinner, and the crocodile lured him closer, pretending to whisper the answer. Golu sat by the river for two days, cooling his sore, stretched nose in the water. Although he hoped it would shrink, it remained long and became the trunk we now associate with elephants.
