CBSE Class 7th English Passage Based Question Chapter 9 A Tiger in the House

Paragraph 1:

Timothy, the tiger-cub, was discovered by Grandfather in the Terai jungle near Dehra. One day, while walking alone, Grandfather found the little tiger hiding among the roots of a banyan tree. He decided to bring Timothy home, where he became the only member of the party to have “bagged” any game, living or dead. Initially, Timothy was fed milk from a bottle by the cook, Mahmoud, but it was too rich for him. His diet was then switched to raw mutton and cod-liver oil, and later to pigeons and rabbits. Timothy had two companions, a bold monkey named Toto, who would tease him, and a small mongrel puppy that Grandfather had found on the road. At first, Timothy was frightened of the puppy, but eventually, he became comfortable enough to let the puppy crawl on his back and rest there.

By this time, he had grown as large as a full-grown retriever. When taken for walks, people would give them a wide berth as Timothy pulled hard on his chain. His favourite place in the house was the drawing-room, where he would recline on the sofa with great dignity, snarling at anyone who tried to move him.
